About Jessica
I work with people moving through periods when the body, identity, and closest relationships all seem to be changing at once. Pregnancy, postpartum life, early parenthood, and shifts in body image can bring emotions that are difficult to admit when everyone around you expects gratitude or assumes you are managing well.
Many of my clients are carrying a great deal privately. They may appear capable while experiencing intrusive thoughts, intense self-criticism, grief for an earlier version of themselves, or a sense that they no longer recognize the person in their own life. Therapy gives us room to examine that experience without asking you to minimize it or turn it into another problem you should be solving more efficiently.
I am particularly attentive to what the body is communicating and to the different internal positions that can emerge during major transitions. The work is paced carefully, with the goal of strengthening emotional regulation and rebuilding trust in your own responses rather than imposing a version of who you should become.
Jessica's therapeutic philosophy
I integrate somatic, parts-based, and cognitive approaches. We may notice the physical signs that appear before overwhelm, explore the protective part that responds with control or criticism, and develop practical ways to stay present when the reaction begins.
With perinatal and body-image concerns, I remain attentive to medical scope and to the broader relational context. Therapy is collaborative and paced according to your current capacity, particularly when sleep, caregiving, or physical recovery are already placing substantial demands on the nervous system.
